'Tis the Season for Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite things about Scented Designs is the community surrounding it. You all are unmatched in your generosity and support, and I can't thank you enough for your kind words, reviews, and purchases. Honestly, I'm so thankful for you.

In the spirit of the season, we have some fun ideas for thank-you gifts, to show the special people in your life how much you appreciate them!

If you're anything like me, I know you put a lot of thought and effort into designing your logo and branding for your company.

Once you have that branding, what do you do with it? Where does it go? Where are you putting that carefully designed logo? Are you thinking as carefully about the places it goes and the products it goes on as you did about the logo itself?

I'm no branding expert (Hi! I'm Kate, owner of Scented Designs Candle Co. in San Jose, California), but I have worked with many businesses, large and small, by creating custom branded candles for them.

Diwali, a festival of lights celebrated worldwide by millions of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains, falls on November 12, 2023 this year. 

Throughout this 5-day festival, the triumph of light over darkness is celebrated in a variety of ways: candles are lit, sparklers and fireworks are set off, sweets are enjoyed, and gifts are exchanged among family and friends.

When I was turning 11, my birthday cake was comprised of 11 chocolate eclairs, laid end to end across the dining room table in the shape of an 11. One birthday candle was placed in each eclair. 

When I went to blow out the candles at the end of 'Happy Birthday,' I failed to blow out a single candle. And my family still won't let me live it down, 20 years later. 

As a candlemaker and the owner of Scented Designs, a candle company in San  Jose, California, I spend a lot of time thinking about candles, so at one point I started wondering, 

Why do we put candles on a cake to blow out anyway?

I just switched over my tiered tray decor from my summer themed decor to my fall decor, and that makes it feel real.
